Starting with the film, I took a worker’s perspective for self- reflection: “What more can I do to finish my work faster?” I used body mimicry to highlight how labor optimization under capitalism further exploits the worker’s value. Through this process, I reflected on how time and motion studies, initially methods for cost-cutting and efficiency, have now turned into a competitive race for speed among capitalist forces. This race leads to a cycle of performance, where workers, caught in an oppressive system, face ongoing exploitation and counter-resistance.
